Department of Art Alum, Young Kim, recently participated in ArtPrize in Grand Rapids Michigan. Artprize is an unusual art festival that allows visitors to vote for “winners”. First place was $250,000. Young Kim created quite a buzz and was included in the top 100 artists. When Young Kim was not included in the top 10, supporters used a Twitter hash tag in his honor, #sorryYoungKim.
The Urban Institute of Contemporary Art created a special $5000 award just for Young.
The Department of Art at APSU could not be more proud of Young. Congratulations.
